Description
Filtration is the cheapest maintenance on a parts washer and the most often skipped. Grit, swarf and carbon circulating through the system does two things: it scours the parts you are trying to clean, and it wears out the pump.
Filtering the solution keeps a charge usable considerably longer, which means fewer changes, less handling of solvent or spent aqueous solution, and lower disposal volume. A filter element costs a fraction of a replacement pump, and premature pump failure is very often a filtration problem wearing a different hat.
